Central Asian project to cost $865m: Qamar

Tajikistasn and Kyrgyzstan will provide 1000 MW electricity to Pakistan under central Asian energy project, which will cost around $865 million, Mr Szyed Naveed Qamar Federal Minister for Privatisation Water and Power said in a meeting with Tajik Envoy to Pakistan, Dr. Zubaydullo N Zubaydov. The electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will come to Pakistan through Afghanistan. The length of the transmission line will be 750 kilometres and it will be built on public-private partnership basis with the support of World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Asian Development Bank and Islamic Development Bank.  Read full story...
