ADB grants Rs 13 billion for the development of sustainable power sector in Sri Lanka

The ADB has agreed to provide financial assistance of Rs.13 billion (US$ 120 million) for the implementation of Sustainable Power Sector Support Project in Sri Lanka. Meeting in line with the government’s target of providing electricity to all households by end of 2012, ADB had decided grant the funds to contribute reliable, adequate and affordable power supply for balanced and sustainable economic growth in the country and increase electricity connections in rural areas, specifically in the Eastern, North Central, Southern and Uva Provinces.  Read full story...
