India: Cabinet clears payment security mechanism for solar power projects

A Rs 486-crore fund that would work as an additional security for the solar power developers seeking loans has been approved by the Cabinet. This fund is aimed at removing apprehensions of the lenders on all payment related risks in case of defaults by distribution utilities to NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam.  Read full story...
