 REEEP International

The REEEP South Asia Regional Secretariat endeavours to pave the way for future regional activities built around renewable energy and energy efficiency development. The Secretariat would provide a regional focus and leadership for the increased use of renewable energy and energy conservation; and promote dissemination of information about the potential contribution of renewable energy sources and efficient technologies in meeting the expected growth in energy demand, particularly in the region.

Results of the 6 REEEP Programme Rounds
REEEP received about 72 proposals (for South Asia region) in response to the calls for proposals under its 6th programme cycle. The project call received funding from a consortium comprised of Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway and the United Kingdom. A sum of € 3 million Euro has been allocated for funding of projects supporting the development of markets for renewable energy and energy efficiency. With an average financing of about €100,000 per project, REEEP expects to fund about 30 projects using this fund.

A total of 14 proposals were short listed from South Asia through a process of evaluation against the standard criteria. The selected 14 are requested to submit full proposals as per the prescribed format before the 11 May 2007 deadline.
